East Riding College is offering discounts to employers who sponsor staff on higher education courses with the College which start in autumn 2009. The College offers a wide range of higher education courses in Art, Design and Media; Business and Management; Early Years; Education; Health and Social Care; Information Technology; and Sport and Recreation.
All the courses have a work-related focus and aim to give students the skills and knowledge they can use in the world of work. They last up to three years and most involve attendance at College only once or twice a week during term time.
Andrew Wren, director of employer engagement and marketing, said: "Our higher education courses can really make a difference to your business.
"Higher education at East Riding College is all about giving people the skills and knowledge they need to be an effective member of staff, with the majority of our courses being foundation degrees, which have a very vocational focus, and can be topped up to an honours degree with an extra year's study."
He added: "As well as increasing the skill levels in your workforce, sponsoring staff through higher education courses makes them feel valued and helps with retention.
"We can offer discounts to employers so please call our business advisors to see how we can help you develop your business."
The College also runs Access to Higher Education courses, which give people who have been out of education for some time the points they need to apply for higher education courses.
